Cardo releases the new scala rider® FREECOM 2™ - Crystal-clear Rider-to-Passenger communication

(Pittsburgh, PA – October 3rd, 2016)

Cardo Systems, Inc., the world’s market leader in wireless Bluetooth® and DMC™ communication systems for motorcycle riders, has announced a new product for 2017, the scala rider FREECOM 2. This new stylish member of the well-acclaimed scala rider product line is an outstanding Bluetooth communication system for riders that ride alone or with their passengers. When riding alone or as a couple, motorcycle riders have learned to enjoy the benefits of staying connected, listening to music, tuning into the radio or simply pointing out a sight of interest, without yelling at the top of their lungs. The new scala rider FREECOM 2 does all that, in a compact unit, designed for ease-of-use, with an ultra-thin flat control panel, fitting virtually all helmet types.

The scala rider FREECOM 2 enables intercom conferencing between rider and passenger with any of the compatible Cardo devices as well as non-Cardo device thanks to the remarkable Cardo Gateway technology on board. Click-to-Link will enable the connection to a nearby Cardo device with no need for pre-pairing hassle.

Equipped with new features that are only available in the Cardo product line, in the FM Radio Sharing mode, the rider and passenger can now share the same FM radio station. In addition, they can share streaming music supported by A2DP technology. All of this entertainment sounds crystal-clear with the new 40 mm ultra-thin HD stereo speakers.

Including two Bluetooth channels, it’s a breeze to connect the scala rider FREECOM 2 to a mobile phone, GPS navigation system or an MP3 player. With Cardo’s Parallel Audio Streaming mode, music and FM radio are muted during phone conversations, returning automatically when the conversation ends. In the intercom mode and during GPS instructions, music will continue to play quietly in the background.

Cardo’s SmartSet App is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Configuring the device settings, pre-setting radio stations as well as controlling the device from the smartphone is intuitive and straightforward to do. Before hitting the road, the Cardo Community online platform offers software upgrades and setting customization of the device from the comfort of your home. scala rider FREECOM 2 is waterproof and dustproof (IP67)
