Cardo Sync is an open-ear, true wireless cycling communication systems offering effortless connectivity for riders to other riders and their phone for calls & music. What are the benefits of riding with Cardo Sync?

Cardo Sync makes staying connected with your group completely effortless. Say goodbye to shouting over the wind or constantly pulling over to regroup. Whether you're calling out hazards, navigating a new route, or just sharing a laugh along the way, Sync keeps the conversation smooth and clear. Plus, with premium sound quality, your favorite music and podcasts will sound incredible on every ride.

How does Cardo Sync differ from other earbuds?

Cardo Sync delivers the best audio experience on the market—without sacrificing your situational awareness. Engineered specifically for cycling, it attaches directly to your helmet instead of sitting in or over your ears, giving you unbeatable comfort and keeping you fully aware of your surroundings. Plus, it's lightweight, incredibly easy to use, and water resistant so you can ride with confidence in any weather.

What's the intercom range?

Cardo Sync is powered by our Cellular Intercom, run on VoIP technology. The range is limited only by data network coverage. So as long as you are within coverage, you can enjoy an unlimited range!

How long does the battery last?

You can count on Cardo Sync to keep you connected for up to 11 hours on a single charge—more than enough power for your longest rides. While exact battery life varies based on your usage and volume levels, it's designed to last all day long.

How heavy is the product?

At just 19 grams per side, Cardo Sync is so lightweight you’ll barely notice it's there—leaving you free to focus entirely on your ride.

What is Cellular Intercom powered by VoIP and how does it work?

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a telecommunications technology that transmits audio calls over an IP network rather than traditional public switched telephone networks. It is the network technology that Sync is built on.

Do I need a phone to use Cardo Sync?

Yes. Cardo Sync uses Cellular Intercom technology and thus communication, music listening and phone calls are reliant on a cellular network and the Cardo Connect app for full functionality.

Is the audio quality the same for the whole group?

Cardo Sync/VeloVox VoIP group calls depend on each participant’s individual cellular data connection. Because coverage varies across mobile providers, network performance—and resulting audio quality—may differ among riders in the same area. To ensure best performance, all participants should have a stable mobile data connection with adequate network coverage.

How does using the Cardo Connect app for Cellular Intercom calls affect my phone’s battery?

When using the Cardo Connect app for Cellular Intercom communication, battery consumption is similar to that of WhatsApp calls. Consumption may vary based on factors such as device model, battery health, screen usage, and network conditions.

Simply set up your group using the Cardo Connect App. Once you are part of a group, just start talking, without needing to push any buttons.

Can I talk while listening to music?

Yes. For peak audio quality, start playing music before joining a group conversation. In this mode, your microphone stays muted by default—press Mute to speak (music automatically pauses), and press it again to finish speaking and resume playback. If you start music after joining the group, you can speak and listen simultaneously, though music quality will be lower.

Why can’t I control my music?

If you start playing music after the intercom conversation has already started, you can talk and listen to music at the same time. However, music quality may be reduced, and music controls such as Next Track and Previous Track will not be available.

Will I be disconnected from the environment when using Cardo Sync?

No. Cardo Sync features an open-ear design that keeps your ears completely unblocked. This lets you enjoy your audio and communicate with your group while staying fully aware of surrounding traffic and your environment.

What is the data consumption when using the intercom function?

Cardo's Cellular intercom data consumption resembles any other voice over IP based apps (like WhatsApp and others).

iOS: iOS 16.0 or later is supported, as long as the device is compatible with the latest Cardo Connect app. Very old iPhone models or iOS versions are not supported.

What is the Wind Shield and why should I use it?

The Wind Shield is an optional accessory designed to reduce wind noise and improve microphone performance, helping maintain clear voice communication while riding.

Should I use the Wind Shield in all weather conditions?

No. The Wind Shield is not recommended in extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain, snow, or sandstorms, where moisture, ice, or debris may affect its performance.

From what speed should I use the Wind Shield?

The exact speed depends on factors such as the environment you cycle in and weather conditions. However at speeds exceeding 25-30km/h (15-20mph) the Wind Shield Attachment will provide additional wind noise cancellation.
