These Refer-a-Friend Program Terms & Conditions (“Referral Terms”) apply to Cardo Systems’ referral program (the “Program”). By participating in the Program, you agree to these Referral Terms, as well as Cardo’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, available on Cardo’s website.
The current commercial terms of the Program, including without limitation the reward amounts, eligibility thresholds, eligible products, participating countries, reward issuance timing and other commercial conditions, are set out in the Cardo Refer-a-Friend Program Rules available on the Program page. The Program Rules may be updated by Cardo from time to time in accordance with these Referral Terms.
1. Eligibility
The Program is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in their place of residence. The Program is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. Businesses, affiliates, distributors, resellers, agencies and other commercial entities may not participate unless expressly approved by Cardo in writing.
Cardo employees, contractors and their immediate family members may be excluded from participation at Cardo’s discretion.
2. Qualified Referral
A “Qualified Referral” means a purchase made by a new customer who:
- receives a valid referral link from a participant in the Program;
- clicks the referral link before making the purchase;
- completes a qualifying purchase through Cardo’s official website; and
- does not cancel, return, refund or charge back the purchase.
The referring participant and the referred customer may not be the same person. Self-referrals, duplicate accounts, fake identities, multiple email addresses or other attempts to manipulate the Program are prohibited.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, only the first qualifying purchase by a referred customer will count as a Qualified Referral.
3. Qualified Purchase
A qualifying purchase must meet any minimum purchase amount, product eligibility requirements or other conditions stated on the Program Rules at the time of purchase.
Taxes, shipping costs, duties, discounts, gift cards, refunded amounts and other non-product charges may be excluded when calculating whether a purchase qualifies.
Cardo may determine whether a purchase qualifies for a referral reward based on the eligibility criteria set out in these Referral Terms and on the Program Rules.
4. Referral Rewards
Referral rewards will be issued only after Cardo confirms that the referred customer’s purchase qualifies and that the applicable withdrawal, return, cancellation and fraud review periods have expired.
Rewards may be provided as a coupon, promotional credit, gift card, cash-equivalent reward or other benefit, as stated on the Program Rules. Rewards are not transferable and may not be redeemed for cash unless expressly stated.
Cardo may set limits on the number or total value of rewards that may be earned by each participant, provided such limits are clearly stated on the Program Rules. Participants are responsible for any taxes that may apply to rewards received under the Program.
Referral rewards will not be cancelled after they have been validly earned, except where the underlying purchase is cancelled, refunded, returned, charged back, found to be fraudulent, issued in error, or where cancellation is required by applicable law.
Referral rewards may not be combined with other promotions, discounts or coupon codes unless expressly stated on the Program Rules.
5. Fraud, Abuse and Disqualification
Cardo may withhold, cancel, revoke or recover any reward if Cardo reasonably believes that the reward was obtained through fraud, abuse, mistake or violation of these Referral Terms.
Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation:
- self-referrals;
- use of fake accounts or identities;
- automated or bulk referrals;
- posting referral links on coupon, discount or deal websites;
- misleading statements about Cardo or the Program;
- paid advertising using Cardo’s name, trademarks or keywords without approval;
- spam or unsolicited commercial messages;
- referrals generated through fraudulent, deceptive or abusive methods.
Cardo may suspend or terminate a participant’s access to the Program if these Referral Terms are violated.
6. Marketing and Communications
Participants must share referral links only in a personal and lawful manner. Participants must not send spam, bulk emails, unsolicited messages or any communication that violates applicable marketing, advertising, privacy or consumer protection laws.
Participants must clearly disclose, where relevant, that they may receive a reward or benefit if a referred customer makes a qualifying purchase.
Participants must not imply that they are Cardo employees, agents or official representatives.
7. Privacy
Cardo will process personal data in connection with the Program in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Cardo may share necessary information with its referral and reward service providers for the purpose of administering the Program, validating referrals, preventing fraud and issuing rewards.
Cardo will not use a referred person’s contact details for direct marketing unless Cardo has a valid legal basis to do so under applicable privacy and marketing laws.
8. Changes to the Program
Cardo may modify, suspend or terminate the Program from time to time for legitimate business reasons, including operational, commercial, legal, technical or fraud-prevention reasons.
Cardo will publish any material changes to these Referral Terms on the Program page (including by updating the Program Rules) or otherwise notify participants through reasonable means before such changes become effective.
Changes will apply prospectively and will not affect rewards already validly earned before the effective date of the change, unless required to prevent fraud, correct an error or comply with applicable law.
9. No Guarantee
Cardo does not guarantee that any participant will receive rewards. Rewards are subject to eligibility, verification, availability and compliance with these Referral Terms.
Cardo is not responsible for technical errors, tracking failures, lost referral links, incorrect email addresses, platform interruptions or other issues that may prevent a referral from being properly recorded.
10. Void Where Prohibited
The Program is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Cardo may limit participation in certain countries, regions or jurisdictions where required or appropriate.
11. Governing Law
These Referral Terms will be governed by the laws specified in Cardo’s website Terms of Use, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that may apply in the participant’s country of residence.
