UCS LITE

User guide
Select languageHow can I update my unit?
No cable is required — software updates are performed over the air using your mobile phone. Download the Cardo Connect app, go to Settings, select your unit, and install the latest available software update.
You can also update your unit via USB using your computer. Download the Cardo Update Lite app from the Cardo website, connect your unit, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Keeping your unit updated ensures optimal performance, bug fixes, and access to new features. We recommend updating your unit before first use.
Which mobile app do I need to download?
You need to download the Cardo Connect app. It allows you to configure your unit, control it remotely from your smartphone screen, and perform over-the-air software updates.
How can I improve the sound quality?
Sound quality is best when the speakers are placed directly opposite your ear canal. Follow these steps to make sure the speakers are positioned correctly inside your helmet:
1. With the helmet on, slide your finger inside the helmet and press against the side where your ear is located. This is where the speakers should be positioned.
2. Remove the helmet, but keep your finger on that location. Check that the speakers align with that spot.
3. Make sure the speakers are as close to your ears as possible.
4. If necessary, use Velcro booster pads to move the speakers closer to your ears and improve positioning.
How long does it take to charge my unit?
Your unit supports fast charging. You will get up to 2 hours of talk time after only 20 minutes of charging, and a full charge takes up to 2 hours.
How do I know when my battery is about to run out?
When the battery is critically low, the LED will blink red and the headset will announce: “Battery Critical.”
How can I get more run-time out of my battery?
Your Cardo unit includes a charge-while-riding feature that allows you to connect it to a power bank or motorcycle power source and continue using it beyond the standard battery time.
How do I make sure that my unit’s battery lasts as long as possible?
We recommend not leaving your unit unused or in storage for more than 3 months without charging it. Be sure to charge your unit at least once every 3 months for a full 4 hours to help ensure maximum battery life.
Can I use the unit in rainy conditions?
Yes. The unit is IP67 waterproof and safe to use in rainy conditions.
Can I share music with any other Cardo unit?
You can share music with other UCS Lite units. Refer to the pocket guide for instructions on how to start music sharing.
Does the UCS Lite connect to other Cardo units, such as PACKTALK, FREECOM, or Spirit?
Yes. UCS Lite units can connect to all Cardo units via universal Bluetooth.
Use standard Bluetooth pairing for Spirit, FREECOM+, and PACKTALK units. For other Cardo units, start phone pairing mode before pairing.
How do I pair a non-Cardo headset using universal connectivity?
To pair your unit with a non-Cardo headset, follow these steps:
1. Start mobile pairing on your UCS Lite unit. Refer to your pocket guide for instructions.
2. On the other unit, start universal pairing. If universal pairing is not supported, start mobile phone pairing instead.
3. Wait for the pairing process to complete.
How do I set up a Cellular Intercom group?
To set up a Cellular Intercom group, follow these steps:
1. Log in to the Cardo Connect app.
2. Select Intercom.
3. Create a new group or join an existing group.
4. Follow the onboarding instructions to create a new group.
5. Invite your friends using a link or QR code.
Once you are part of a group, you can join a call from within the app or by pressing the center button for 5 seconds.
You can switch groups through the Cardo Connect app.
How much data does Cellular Intercom use?
Usage varies based on the number of connections. Typically, Cellular Intercom uses 18–48 MB per hour, similar to a WhatsApp voice call.
Do I need a phone to operate my unit?
Bluetooth intercom works independently of a phone. A phone is needed only for music streaming, VoIP, and phone calls.
