Will it pair with any other Bluetooth intercoms?
Cardo intercom systems come with universal connectivity. They will pair with any other Bluetooth communication system by Cardo or other leading brands. Refer to Cardo Gateway in the manual.
How to pair to a non-Cardo headset using universal connectivity (Cardo Gateway)
To pair your unit with a non-Cardo headset, start intercom pairing on your unit, tap the phone button to start Cardo Gateway pairing, start mobile phone pairing on the other unit, and wait for the pairing to complete.
Mobile app doesn't recognize unit. What next?
Ensure you are using the correct app and your smartphone is paired and connected to the unit. If unresolved, delete the app, delete the unit from your phone's Bluetooth settings, restart your phone, and reset the unit. Re-pair, download the app, and start it. If it still doesn’t connect, turn off your unit with the app running and switch it back on.
Which mobile app do I need to download for my device?
For PACKTALK, PACKTALK Bold, PACKTALK Slim, SMARTPACK, SMARTH, FREECOM 1, 2, and 4, download the Cardo Connect app. For Qz, Q1, Q3, G9, G9x, SRC V1.1, SRC Pro, Louis special edition, and SHO-1, download the Cardo Smartset app (only Android supported for Qz, Q1, G9, and SRC).
Connectivity to Smart dashboard, bike infotainment and GPS devices
For the best experience, connect using a Bluetooth 5.0 equipped smartphone to both the bike system and the Cardo unit directly. Alternatively, connect both phone and bike system directly to the Cardo unit without connecting the phone to the bike system.
Can it be charged while riding?
Yes, Cardo communication systems can be charged while riding. Plug it into the bike's 12V charger or a battery pack, switch it back on and continue riding.
Do I have to have a phone for it to work?
Intercom and radio features are phone independent. A phone is only needed to stream music or for calls.
Friends tell me my voice doesn’t come out clear. What can I do?
Ensure the boom mic is close to your mouth with the yellow triangle facing you. Use a larger mic sponge for wind noise. Larger sponges are included in the package or available for purchase.
How do I make sure that my unit's battery lasts as long as possible?
Avoid leaving your unit unused or in storage for more than 3 months without charging. Charge your unit at least once every 3 months for a full 4 hours to ensure maximum battery life.
Is it possible to use it with my own earbuds / speakers?
Yes, you can plug in your favorite earbuds or aftermarket speakers via the standard 3.5mm jack.
The unit doesn't seem to be charging or the battery doesn't last as long as it should
Try charging the unit for at least 4 hours. If unsuccessful, use a different wall charger and USB cable. If issues persist, contact support. Do not attempt to disassemble or replace the battery on your own.
How can I improve my sound quality?
Ensure speakers are placed directly opposite your ear canal and as close to your ears as possible. Use Velcro booster pads behind the speakers if necessary. Consider placing speakers outside helmet ear cavities if helmet design is not optimal.
How can I get more riding time out of my battery?
Use the Charge while riding feature by plugging the unit into a bike's 12V charger or a power bank, then turn it back on.
Can I use this product in the rain?
Yes, all Cardo units are IP67 waterproof, so you can ride in the rain and enjoy top communication.
Is it easy to install?
The box comes with a full installation kit and guide. Installation time is typically 30 minutes for a novice and 5 minutes for a veteran.
Is my unit still under warranty?
All Cardo units come with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. Keep your proof of purchase for warranty claims.
How can I get more range of intercom out of my unit?
Range can be affected by riding environment, topography, proximity to power lines and cellular towers, and line of sight.
Will it fit my helmet?
Yes, it can be fitted to virtually any helmet type. For half helmets and ski helmets, a Boom Microphone Cradle is required, sold separately.
How to use my Cardo product with the BRP connect?
Can I replace the battery in my unit?
Do not attempt to disassemble or replace the battery on your own. If your unit doesn’t hold a charge, try charging it for 4 hours or using a different charger. Contact support for further assistance.
Can I share music with any other Cardo unit?
Music sharing is possible with any Cardo unit from the same generation. It is not compatible with products from previous generations.
