Founded in 2007, Ruroc has become one of the fastest-growing brands in the United Kingdom, developing cutting-edge motorcycle helmets. Shipping to over 100 different countries, Ruroc has a network of over four million followers and regularly listens to its customers’ feedback.

Looking for a ‘plug-and-play’ device for its latest flagship helmet to hit the market, the EOX, Ruroc chose Cardo to find a solution to offer a new choice of total integrated connectivity.

Solution

A close partnership between the two brands was essential from the start of the project, starting right back at the research and development phase.

The new EOX has been designed with two cutouts on each side of the shell. The Cardo team developed a communicator that can be housed on one side, with a separate battery pack on the other. With cables pre-installed, riders can ‘click and go’ in seconds.

The kit comes with two batteries as standard, so even mid-ride they can be swapped out quickly and easily.

Using Cardo’s leading and proven DMC (Dynamic Mesh Communication) technology, the new Shockwave Mesh powered by Cardo Systems supports group rides of up to 15 riders, at a range of up to 1.2km.

Thanks to Cardo’s 20 years of experience in motorcycle communications, the new Shockwave Mesh system boasts an IP65 Waterproof rating, Natural Voice Operation – enabling riders to simply use voice commands – as well as over-the-air updates.

The Shockwave Mesh will even adapt to your surroundings with its auto-volume feature; whether you need to crank up the volume through the 40mm speakers to soundtrack those twisties or dial down the group chat to hear yourself think, the Shockwave Mesh adaptive sound will do the work for you.

Support

Further to the close relationship between the product development teams, there was full support from Cardo’s Marketing, PR and social media functions.

For the product launch, both brands had a combined press release to specialist media, influencers and Key Opinion Leaders, with product placement opportunities jointly offered to gain maximum exposure.

Cardo’s Vice President of Business Development, Shachar Harari, attended and presented at the EOX launch event at Ruroc HQ in Gloucester, United Kingdom.

There was full marketing and product training given to the Ruroc team to ensure they were familiar with the product and any technical questions asked by customers.

Following the launch to maintain momentum, a collaborative social media competition was run across Cardo and Ruroc’s social media channels.

In November 2024, Cardo displayed the EOX and Cardo’s Shockwave Mesh on the stand at EICMA to highlight the partnership to thousands of visitors.
