Cardo Trade-In Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: August 10, 2026

These Cardo Trade-In Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) constitute an agreement between Cardo and you. Please read these Terms before participating in the Cardo Trade-In Program (the “Program”). Any trade-in or trade-in submission is subject to these Terms. By participating in the Program, you accept these Terms.

1. Program Overview

The Program allows eligible customers to purchase a qualifying new Cardo PACKTALK communication device (the “New Cardo Product”) through Cardo’s webstore and submit one used motorcycle helmet communication system for a post-purchase rebate. The Program is available only through Cardo’s webstore and is limited to residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia.

2. Eligibility

To participate in the Program, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old;
  • Have a valid physical shipping address in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia;
  • Purchase a qualifying New Cardo Product through Cardo’s webstore;
  • Be the lawful owner of an eligible trade-in device (the “Trade-In Device”); and
  • Comply with these Terms.

The Program is limited to one Trade-In Device per New Cardo Product. Separate qualifying purchases may each include one separate Trade-In Device.

If you submit more devices than permitted under this Section, Cardo will make a reasonable effort to apply the highest available final rebate value to the permitted number of devices submitted. Cardo will reject any additional devices and notify you of the rejection. Cardo will not return additional devices. Unless prohibited by applicable law, Cardo may recycle or otherwise dispose of them.

Eligible Trade-In Devices

Eligible Trade-In Devices include Cardo and non-Cardo motorcycle helmet communication systems, including broken or non-functioning units. Only the main electronic communication unit is required. Mounting brackets, microphones, speakers, and other accessories are not required.

Cardo may, at its discretion, recycle or dispose of any additional items submitted with the Trade-In Device. Cardo will not return such items, and they may be considered as part of the final rebate valuation.

Empty boxes, unrelated electronics, toys, counterfeit products, and items that are not motorcycle helmet communication systems are not eligible for the Program.

3. Estimated Rebate; Final Value

Any rebate amount shown during checkout is an estimate only and is based on your representations regarding the Trade-In Device. The final rebate amount will be determined after Cardo receives, inspects, and verifies the Trade-In Device.

4. Checkout and Payment

You must pay the full purchase price of the New Cardo Product at checkout. The trade-in rebate is not an instant discount and will be issued only after Cardo receives and accepts the Trade-In Device.

5. Shipping the Trade-In Device

After purchase, Cardo will provide a prepaid shipping label and packing instructions. You must ship the Trade-In Device using the provided label within 30 days after the shipping label is issued.

If the Trade-In Device is not shipped within the required timeframe, Cardo may cancel the trade-in request, and no rebate will be issued. Cardo will notify you if the Trade-In Device is rejected because it was shipped after the applicable deadline.

Cardo will not return a Trade-In Device rejected due to late shipment except as otherwise provided in Section 7.

6. Inspection and Acceptance

Cardo will inspect the received Trade-In Device to confirm that it is an eligible motorcycle helmet communication system under these Terms and to determine the applicable rebate tier in accordance with the rebate table available on the Cardo Trade-In page.

Cardo devices may be verified by serial number or product label. Non-Cardo devices may be visually inspected to confirm eligibility. The Trade-In Device is not required to be functional.

Mismatches and Adjusted Rebates

If the Trade-In Device received differs from the Trade-In Device declared during checkout, Cardo may reject the Trade-In Device or adjust the rebate to reflect the device actually received, in accordance with the rebate table available on the Cardo Trade-In page.

Examples include:

  • If you declared a Cardo PACKTALK device but submitted a Cardo FREECOM device, the rebate may be adjusted to the applicable FREECOM tier.
  • If you declared a Cardo device but submitted an eligible non-Cardo communication system, the rebate may be adjusted to the applicable non-Cardo tier.
  • If you submitted an empty box or an item that is not an eligible motorcycle communication system, no rebate will be issued.

If a discrepancy occurs, Cardo will notify you and may open a customer-support case for review.

7. Ownership and Rejection of the Trade-In Device

Title to and ownership of the Trade-In Device will transfer to Cardo only after Cardo receives, inspects, and accepts the Trade-In Device at Cardo’s warehouse for participation in the Program.

Once the Trade-In Device has been accepted by Cardo, it will not be returned, except where required by applicable law. Cardo will notify you by email when the Trade-In Device is accepted and, once processed, when the applicable rebate is issued.

If Cardo determines that a Trade-In Device is not eligible for the Program, Cardo may reject the Trade-In Device, and no rebate will be issued. Unless prohibited by applicable law, Cardo may recycle or otherwise dispose of a rejected Trade-In Device.

Cardo may, in its discretion, offer to return a rejected Trade-In Device to you, subject to your payment of applicable return-shipping costs.

Cardo will not return a rejected Trade-In Device if:

  • The device is counterfeit;
  • The device requires a special shipping process;
  • The device presents a potential safety hazard;
  • The device may have been stolen; or
  • Cardo previously attempted to return the device and it was returned as undeliverable.

8. Rebate Timing and Method

Approved rebates will be issued to the original payment method within approximately 5–10 business days after the Trade-In Device is delivered to and accepted by Cardo’s warehouse. Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to process and post the rebate.

9. Return of the New Cardo Product

If you return the New Cardo Product after a trade-in rebate has been issued, Cardo will reduce the refund for the returned New Cardo Product by the amount of the trade-in rebate already paid.

10. No Discount Stacking

The trade-in rebate may not be combined with affiliate codes, other promotional codes, or major sales-event discounts unless Cardo expressly permits otherwise.

11. Fraud and Abuse

Cardo may deny participation, withhold a rebate, cancel a trade-in request, limit quantities, or take other appropriate action where Cardo reasonably suspects fraud, abuse, bad-faith activity, inaccurate submissions, unauthorized resale activity, or any violation of these Terms.

12. Program Changes

Cardo may modify, suspend, extend, or terminate the Program at any time in its sole discretion. Any such change will apply prospectively and will not affect eligible trade-in requests already submitted or accepted under the Program, except where fraud, abuse, or a violation of these Terms is reasonably suspected.

13. Customer Communications

Cardo may send Program-related transactional communications necessary to administer the Program, including shipping-label instructions, receipt confirmations, verification updates, rebate approval or denial notices, refund confirmations, and customer-support communications.

Where required by applicable law, Cardo will send non-essential marketing communications only to customers who have actively opted in to receive them.
