The **Packtalk Edgephones ORV** are a seriously impressive piece of gear for off-road riders who want solid communication without the hassle of in-helmet setups. Built around Cardo’s proven Packtalk Edge unit, these over-ear headphones are purpose-built for dusty, loud, and unpredictable environments—and they deliver.
Right away, the build quality stands out. The headset is sturdy, folds flat for easy storage, and includes thick, replaceable ear cushions that block a good amount of outside noise. The magnetic "Air Mount" for the Edge unit is simple but effective—no clips or snaps to fumble with, even with gloves on. The whole thing feels like it was designed by someone who actually rides in the real world.
Audio quality is surprisingly good. The 40mm JBL speakers are loud and clear, even in a noisy side-by-side or UTV. Voices come through crisp, and music doesn’t sound tinny like it does with some cheaper headsets. The mic works well too—it picks up your voice without amplifying the engine noise or wind, which is key when you’re trying to coordinate on the trail.
The standout feature, though, is the Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC). It just works. You can ride in and out of range without needing to reconnect, and linking multiple riders takes seconds. It’s a game-changer if you’re used to finicky Bluetooth systems.
Battery life is solid (about 13–14 hours), the app is easy to use, and voice commands make it mostly hands-free. You can even update the firmware over the air, which is a nice touch.
Overall, if you’re looking for a rugged, plug-and-play comms setup for off-roading—whether for recreation or guiding a crew—the Packtalk Edgephones ORV are absolutely worth it. Not cheap, but the quality and ease of use justify the price.
The noise canceling and music share are a game changer for our 4x4 experience. We upgraded from helmet com to the headphones and are beyond happy. Hoppy more in our gang will move up so we can use the group features.
Awesome first ARV use, music, phone, intercom and 2way radio use
I was looking for a few things for SxS and Snowmobile: Ear protection, communication, the ability to play music, no wires, and multi-sport usage: These provide all the above. The sound is excellent. Set up is a breeze. The batteries last forever. Music sounds great. Best of all: No wires and doesn't cost nearly as much as some overhyped communications systems. Love it.

These are so much better than the ones I purchased last year from a different manufacturer. The old ones we couldn't communicate going over 30mph in our Can-Am x3. These didn't miss a beat at 50mph. We could hear each other perfectly. I was hesitant to lay down $1000 for a couple of headphones. Money well spent.
