Packtalk Edgephones ORV

My Cardo Edgephone's get 100% more use than my traditional intercom system that was married to my machine. I take them in my SXS , Jeep , Dirt bike ...Heck! I even use them when I have someone spotting me backing up to a trailer!..... Have I mentioned I even take them target shooting? ...And when it comes to work they play a key role in ear protection and keeping us connected on the job site . I could not recommend these enough.

I got the duo pack and a helmet pack, charged them, installed them and linked them. Pretty easy watching the videos. We used them on a ride and besides no side tone, the audio was so clear even with a loud Evo exhaust on our sxs. Let other family members try them and they were amazed at the range and quality. I forgot how to turn them off, so they stayed on all day. 20% left at the end of the day. Range was beyond belief, we tested it. Besides tree cover, line of sight is true. Over half mile line of sight range is validated! Amazing!

Get them!

Overall very good, I’m comparing them with my Bose aviation headset. The pinch pressure could use to be slightly less and some gel ear pads would make them a 5.5 out of 5. Hope this helps, but a very good purchase regardless.

These are great together while using in the side by side but horrible when paired with our older packtalk bold.

The noise canceling and music share are a game changer for our 4x4 experience. We upgraded from helmet com to the headphones and are beyond happy. Hoppy more in our gang will move up so we can use the group features.

The price of these is way too high for how uncomfortable they are. We have small heads and they squeeze like crazy I can’t imagine on large domed people how they feel. The JBL speakers are a joke as well. I knew JBL stunk already because I have the setup in my adv helmet but these were the only headsets I found to work for our situation. If I made more money I would’ve just bought Bose aviation stuff and made it work.

That being said….the comms between riders works very well.

The Packtalk Edgephones ORV headsets are an amazing product, once you get them setup. The operation is nearly flawless but does on rare occasion, lose connection. The headsets work as described and make riding in a loud vehicle/environment much more enjoyable - the sound quality of the JBL speakers is amazing. I purchased 4 headsets and ran them as two separate mesh systems and used an Oxbow 2-way radio with PTT buttons to link the driver's of each mesh. Once setup, this worked really well. The setup, unfortunately, was excruciating and not at all intuitive. I was not able to get the headsets operational with the user guide and had to watch multiple videos. My son (mechanical engineer and MBA) also wasn't able to get his going without watching videos. I would definitely buy again.

A great product we are really enjoying them

The headphones are very functional. The technology is impressive. I wish there was an adjustment for the width setting. The headphones are uncomfortably tight. Perhaps they will loosen a bit after wearing them for a while. Overall, I am very pleased and look forward to another purchase.

Great looking, functioning product. It pairs with the older pack talk bold’s we use for work. We use the cardio units on arborist helmets in the tree care industry. They are constantly abused and ran in all weather conditions. Great product.

Wonderful software and an absolute game changer for riding. Would really benefit from a little more noise cancellation for the Loud UTV’s and a range extender. Something to compete with Rugged and PCI for over the horizon communication via GMRS or VHF.9/10 still harping on my friends to buy them.

Find them hard to turn on and off. Pairing has also been difficult and it only one side of headphone is working on one headset. Not impressed for the price. They are also heavy towear.

Works as advertised. Plan to add helmet version next. Instructions aren’t as clear as they could be

Product (Cardo duo set) showed up earlier than expected and in excellent condition. After a quick charge and some simple syncing / set up operations they were ready to go. My wife and I wore them around the yard and through the house and they seem to work great. They have not been out on the trail yet (MN weather hit early) but looking forward to their first trial in the SxS ... so far, very pleased!

I performed a trial run around the house. Seems to have a delay when communicating with the other headset. Will give them a real ring out in a realistic situation. Sure hope this is not going to be the case. If so, they will be returned. Pretty expensive for that kind of results.

Good fit, and finish and sound quality, way too complicated of an interface. This reminds me of my Garmin watches that have five buttons to navigate the airplane that are not intuitive. Any multiple buttons for different periods of time is not sustainable unless you use the device every day. It seems like the cardo system engineers have jammed too many features into the product without an intuitive interface to reach them. All really good features and ideas just a really poor way to interact even with the app on the iPhone. The device devices get confused easily and have to be reset so that they will see each other, which is the primary reason for having this device. I would not purchase these headphones and communication device devices again.
